Alex Crawford
Your future Success Coach
I began my career as a peer writing tutor and have committed my professional career to supporting college student success across diverse institutions like Stanford University and Harper College. With over ten years of experience, I have served as a tutor, mentor, first year advisor, academic coach, trainer, and program administrator. The part of my jobs I loved the most was the direct work with students to help them navigate transition, develop new learning and success strategies, and grow in resilience and confidence so they could succeed in college and beyond.
As a part of my many roles in higher education, I worked with diverse folks including high achievers, students on academic probation, students with learning disabilities including those with ADHD or executive function challenges, first generation college students, student athletes, adults returning to college after many years away, and even formally incarcerated students adjusting to life outside of prison. I also spoke with many parents who were working through the balance of wanting help their child while also helping them learn essential self-advocacy skills and independence.
Outside of higher education, I have experience coaching and supporting clients with major life transitions like career changes, relocation, and new roles. These clients often seek support with strategies around like emotional regulation, goal development, adapting and thriving in new situations, routine management, and building community.
I am committed to client-centered, holistic approaches and research-based practices. I am pursuing my ICF PCC certification and will uphold all standards and ethical practices as put forward. I am also working on an additional ADHD and executive function certification because despite my many years of experience working with this population, I recognize there’s always room to grow and new things to learn.
All of that means that I’m staying current on training and best practices in the field. I love to bring new ideas to the table to be the best coach for my clients. I partner with my clients to help them discover strategies that are tailored to them, which means no session looks the same—because I embrace flexibility to work WITH you and how YOU think. I meet you where you’re at so we can walk together on your journey.
Outside of coaching, I enjoy training for my second degree blackbelt in karate, walking my two Formosan Mountain Dogs, cooking new recipes, completing Pokedexes, and traveling.
